If you happen to be around the Denver, Colorado area and have some time, it might pay to go to the Butterfly Pavilion and Insect Center located northwest in the town of Westminster.
The pavilion maintains a 7,200 square foot tropical forest, home to over 1,200 spectacular butterflies from over 50 species, plus over 100 tropical and subtropical plants.
Visitors will find themselves surrounded by Giant Owls and Blue Morphos from Central America, Clippers and Paper Kites from Indo-Australia, Green Banded Peacocks and Grey Pansy butterflies from Southeast Asia, plus many more species in flight and motion.
The large variety of tropical plants provide nectar and shelter for the butterflies living in the lush pavilion.
There are insect, educational and discovery center areas, plus a gallery and gift shop.
The hours are daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The admission is: Adults $6.95, Seniors $4.95 and children $3.95.
